How we picked them

We chose these on their sales record with buyers elsewhere, not on our own sales, which we don't have yet. The CURREN 8291 and the blue-dial POEDAGAR are quartz chronographs. The NAVIFORCE NF8023 has a pyramid-textured dial on blue leather, the LIGE 89143 is gold-tone on brown leather, and the NAVIFORCE NF9163 puts hands over a digital display. For women there is the rectangular CURREN 9093, and the two retro SKMEI digitals, the 2460 on a steel bracelet and the clear-cased 2056, are unisex.

Case sizes

Most of the men's watches are large. The NF8023 is 45 mm, and the CURREN 8291 and NF9163 are 45 to 49 mm by the maker's range. The POEDAGAR chronograph is 40 mm, and LIGE publishes no case size for the 89143. The SKMEI 2460 is 41 mm and the CURREN 9093 is 23 mm.

Movement and water resistance

All eight are quartz or digital, so there is nothing to wind. All except the SKMEI 2056 are rated 3 bar, which is fine for rain and hand-washing but not for a shower. The 2056 is rated 5 bar, which covers showers and a short swim. Our water resistance guide explains each rating.
