Choosing a size

Women's cases here run from the 23 mm rectangular CURREN 9093 to the 40 mm LIGE 10049. Men's go from the 36 mm ADDIESDIVE AD2065 GMT up to 46 mm and beyond. For a slim dress watch, the BERNY 2944M is 7.5 mm thick and runs on a Miyota 1L45 movement, and dress watches gathers the other slim ones.

Bracelets and straps

Steel bracelets have removable links that any jeweller can size in a few minutes, and the same jeweller can replace the battery when it runs out. Mesh straps adjust by sliding the buckle along the mesh. The OLEVS 5877 is the only watch here on a ceramic bracelet, which resists scratches but can chip if it hits a hard floor.

Water resistance

Most are rated 3 bar, fine for rain and hand-washing but not for showers. A 5 bar model covers a shower and a short swim. For swimming, look at the 10 bar models, such as the ADDIESDIVE AD2065 GMT and the CADISEN C7068 titanium chronograph. Our water resistance guide explains each rating.
