Automatic or hand-wound

An automatic winds itself from the movement of your wrist. A hand-wound watch needs a few turns of the crown each day. Six of the seven here are automatics, and the LIGE 6826 can also be wound by the crown. The Sugess S387 is a hand-wound Seagull ST1901 chronograph. An automatic runs for about a day and a half off the wrist. If it stops, wind the crown 20 to 30 turns, set the time and wear it as normal.

Movements and dials

The CADISEN C8244 (stainless steel) and C8246 TI-7 (titanium, sapphire crystal) both run on the Miyota 8215, which beats at 21,600 an hour. The CADISEN C8175 has the Miyota 9015. The T-WINNER 188 is a skeleton, with the dial cut away to show the movement, and it is 14 mm thick. The LIGE 6826 has an open heart that shows the balance wheel. Our Miyota 8215 vs 9015 guide compares the movements.

Water resistance

The CADISEN C8244 and C8246 TI-7 are rated 10 bar, enough for swimming. The BERNY AM339MS is 20 bar, and the Sugess S387 and CADISEN C8175 are 5 bar. The LIGE 6826 and T-WINNER 188 are 3 bar, so keep them out of the shower. Our water resistance guide explains each rating.
